Description:
The HERO-30 Special Forces is an improved LMAM that is envisioned to be a loitering precision guided lethal system, intended to be an organic munition for small teams that have limited artillery or close air support. The system significantly improves first round hit probability in urban and steep terrain over current LMAM capabilities, and increases chances of lethality due to longer loiter time and a larger effective warhead.
Operational Impact:
The HERO-30SF gives operators increased capability to engage enemy mounted and dismounted combatants without exposing themselves to direct enemy fire from Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) with a greater probability of first round hit.
Transition:
This capability will compete for placement in the Joint Service LMAMS program of record.
