Description:
An edge analytics application and Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) plugin that supports generating objective 3D maps from actively or passively collected small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS)-based full motion video, infrared , and associated metadata. The 3D mapping application leverages a TAK user interface , sharable/exportable between devices so that 3D maps can be viewed by other tactical units in the field, as well as Special Operations Task Force/Command/HQ. The application generates a 3D mesh of a geographical area, as well as a .prj file, within mission expedient time frames to provide tactical-level users mission relevant geospatial intelligence and analysis in support of mission planning and command and control.
Operational Impact:
In the field, this 3D mapping capability provides an advanced iIrregular warfare capability that improves over the horizon situational awareness, supports rapid 3D imaging with augmented reality at the tactical edge, and enhances mission planning, rehearsal and execution.
Transition:
Production prototype software package is deployed on the Modular Mission Environment. The end user has administrative authority to issue user accounts and licenses at their discretion and the solution is also commercially available through the vendor.
