Upright Pole Camera - Telescoping Infrared Camera System
Background:
The UpRight telescoping pole camera allows an operator to tilt and rotate the unit camera to any arbitrarily position, while the screen display maintains a vertically (normal erect) oriented image. This feature allows the operator to move the camera as needed to fit the tactical mission while enhancing the ability to rapidly access and interpret the images from any video screen.
Requirement or Problem:
Pole cameras can be awkward to use, requiring articulating devices, manual manipulation of camera heads, or users to activate switches to orient the display. (Rooms or Spaces appear upside down) Each of these processes make these potentially life saving devices harder and more time consuming to use, reducing the effectiveness of the device.
Technical Description:
An innovative pole camera surveillance system that allows a video image to remain upright regardless of the camera position. Designed for tactical missions where quick orientation is essential, the system features advanced sensor technology and proprietary software that digitally processes and aligns the video signal to a vertically oriented display. Digital zoom and brightness control are incorporated.
Advantages & Limitations:
The operator can tilt or rotate the camera to any position without needing to manually switch monitors or articulate the camera head, thus reducing disorientation that can come from inverted or tilted images. The system works with thermal, ultra low lux, or dual camera heads. In addition, the lightweight, carbon fiber telescoping pole provides greater flexibility in hard-to-reach areas.
